Tree trimming and pruning
Good trimming keeps a tree healthy and keeps its branches off your roof, your gutters and the wires. If you're in Long Branch, Ocean Township, Neptune, Asbury Park, Wall, Belmar or Spring Lake, call and we'll connect you with a local tree company that does it right.
Branches over the roof? Ask when you call.
Call (732) 399-3777When trimming helps
- Dead or broken branches that could fall on the house, a car or people
- Limbs rubbing the roof or dropping leaves into the gutters
- Branches growing toward the wires running to your house
- A tree that's too thick to let light or wind through
- Low limbs over the driveway or sidewalk
A note about wires
Branches near the main lines along the street are usually handled by the power company. For the line that runs from the pole to your house, ask your power company what they'll do, and let a trained tree crew handle anything close to it. Never trim near a wire yourself.
What good pruning looks like
A good crew cuts back to a healthy branch or the trunk, takes out dead wood first, and leaves the tree with its natural shape. Be wary of anyone who offers to "top" a tree by cutting all the big limbs off flat. It weakens the tree and usually leads to more problems later.
